Mom Monday

I LOVE those unexpected moments that come up soo quick and out of nowhere, where I get to do what a mom ( a Follower of Christ mom) was meant to do- IMPRESS THE WORD OF GOD ON MY CHILDREN'S HEARTS ( Deuteronomy 6:7-9).

Last night, as I was sitting under my gazebo making some phone calls, Elyse, my 6 year old daughter, rode by on her bike. She paused for a moment to look at some new "Becky" daisies I had just planted. Sadly she exclaimed, "Oh  mom! There is only one left that is still beautiful." Feeling the pain of the withering and loss of beauty, I shared with her how I deal with that sadness. I said, " Have I ever told you what God says about that? He says, "The grass withers and the flowers fall, BUT THE WORD OF GOD STANDS FOREVER."  Isaiah 40:8  Elyse said, "Oh!" and continued on riding her bike.

I don't know about you, but I am a flower & beauty lover and I HATE when they wither and fall. It makes me feel sad. It brings HOPE & FOCUS to my soul to know "Beauty is fleeting". Things here on earth are temporary, but there is something that STANDS FOREVER.....GOD'S WORD.

STANDS- remains stable, valid, intact or unchanged

May we enjoy the beauty of His word that remains unchanged and that says that He is real. He is Living & the earth is his footstool.  He sees us......deeply.  He knows us intimately, even the very number of hairs on our head. He is for us & not against us. He cares about us. He knows what we need before we even ask Him.He disciplines those He loves. He sent Jesus to cover us and make us PERFECT FOREVER.  He is with us every step of this journey until He brings us home to Paradise and makes us like Jesus.

May we get & keep God's words in our hearts so we can do what we were meant to do as mamas- IMPRESS THE WORD OF GOD ON OUR CHILDREN'S HEARTS.  May we keep in tune with the Spirit of God who "Reminds us of his words," and gently whispers to us, "say this to your daughter," or "Say this to your son."  Keep on being awesome moms. What you are doing makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE in the hearts of these precious children who were made "By God & For God." Colossians 1:16

Blessings from Bombadil- Home of withering flowers, but the home of WORDS from God that will last forever!! K.Link

Temptation

At the River, where I gather with fellow believers in Jesus Christ, we are going through the entire Bible this year with a commom reading plan. Today we read Genesis 10-12 and Matthew 4. In Matthew we read about the temptation of Jesus. May I remind, encourage, warn, comfort someone out there with a few pieces of Scripture regarding TEMPTATION.

TEMPTATION means to entice someone to an UNWISE or IMMORAL act

"Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, HE IS ABLE TO HELP those who are being tempted." Hebrews 2:18

"For we don't have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses , but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are- yet was without sin." Hebrews 4:15

"WHEN tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God CANNOT BE TEMPTED BY EVIL nor does He tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full grown gives birth to DEATH." James 1:13-15

He loves us soooo much. He wants to SAVE US and rescue us from that which can destroy us.  He understands the power of temptation. He is sympathetic.  He wants to help us when we are tempted. Here is how he fought:

Matthew 4:

"It is written!!"  "It is written.."  "It is written."

He knew Scripture. He used Scripture. He didn't quit until the temptation passed.

"No temptation has seized you except that which is common to man. And God is faithful ; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But WHEN you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." 1 Corinthians 10:13

May we SEE temptation as it really is..... a seeking to destroy our lives. May we fight back with Scripture and not give in to sin that when full grown gives birth to DEATH. May we look for our WAY OUT because HE WILL PROVIDE ONE but we have to take it! Blessings from Bombadil. K.Link
