Shiffra

Many of you know our beloved, Shiffra Nimz- a beautiful woman who loves God, serves him faithfully and has a great laugh. Whenever you see her, Shiffra Nimz, I want you to think of the following story. For those of you who don't know her ( I'm sorry for you) simply hear this great story from God's word and let it "dwell in you richly."    " The King of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah (aka: Shiffra...just spelled wrong ) and Puah, "When you help the Hebrew women in childbirth and observe them on the delivery stool, if it is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live." The midwives, HOWEVER, FEARED GOD AND DID NOT DO WHAT THE KING OF EGYPT HAD TOLD THEM TO DO; they let the boys live. Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, 'Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?" The midwives answered Pharoah, 'Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive." So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. And because the midwives FEARED GOD, he gave them families of their own."  Exodus 1:15-21   Whenever you see SHIFFRA NIMz or hear a loud & contagious laugh or experience/see a midwife or whatever.... hear these words of God whispered in your ear:   "FEAR GOD.....NOT MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!"   "The fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe." Prov. 29:25   "They came to Jesus and said, 'We know you are a man of INTEGRITY. You aren't swayed by men because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth."  Mark 12: 14   "What does the Lord your God ask of you but to FEAR THE LORD YOUR GOD, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, to observe the Lord's commands and decrees that I am giving you FOR YOUR OWN GOOD."  Deuteronomy 10:12 & 13   "Assemble the people- so they can LISTEN & LEARN TO FEAR THE LORD and follow carefully  all the the words of this law. Their children, who do not know this law, MUST HEAR IT AND LEARN TO FEAR THE LORD ...." Deut. 31:12   May we LEARN to FEAR THE lORD and may we fear HIM and not man!!! Dont let your Trust rust!

I was at Big Lots yesterday and I found this great stone heart with the word, "TRUST" on it for $3.00 (woo hoo!) I couldn't help but notice the word, "RUST," in the word "TRUST." I found myself walking through Big Lots saying to myself (in my head, of course) ,"Don't let your trust rust!!!"   RUST- any deterioration of ability or character resulting from INACTIVITY OR NEGLECT....to become corroded.   TRUST- a FIRM reliance on the integrity,ability or character of a person; confident belief; to rely; to depend on; HOPE; expect with assurance;    Are you, "Trusting in the Lord WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART"- Prov. 3;5 right now?   Can you say, like the Psalmist, "I am STILL CONFIDENT of this; I WILL SEE THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD in the land of the living." The Psalmists counsel to his own soul is this:   "Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and WAIT FOR THE LORD." Psalm 27: 13 & 14   "Do not LET you hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me." John 14:1   "The statutes you have laid down are righteous, they are FULLY TRUSTWORTHY." Psalm 119: 138     May we NOT let our Trust Rust through inactivity or neglecting God's word.   "I will NOT NEGLECT YOUR WORD!"Psalm 119: 16   We are here to find him, fall in love with him and experience him personally. He really loves us. He really sees us. May we excercise our confident belief in him today and may we see the goodness of teh Lord at just the right time. Happy Mom MOnday

Happy Mom Monday...................   If you have been given the greatest honor of being a mom, may I remind you (because sometimes I need to remind myself) that your children are a REWARD!!   "Sons are a heritage from the LORD, CHILDREN A REWARD FROM HIM." Psalm 127:3   Maybe you know that today. If so, store up this truth as your "weapon" for those days that they might not 'FEEL" like a reward.   May we remember that they are CHILDREN.  According to Scripture, children talk, think and reason like ......CHILDREN:   "When I was a CHILD, I TALKED like a CHILD, I THOUGHT like a CHILD, I REASONED like a CHILD. When I became a MAN, I put childish wasy behind me." 1 Corinthians 13:11   May we ENJOY the adorable, childish things they say, and may we have GREAT PATIENCE IN UNDERSTANDING in the 'NOT SO ADORABLE things they say and do....They are CHILDREN..........and need time and teaching and GREAT patience......They are a REWARD...........Enjoy them today.   Blessings from Bombadil. Mom Monday

Do you ever feel like helping your children become all that God wants them to become is all on your shoulders? If so, I have good news for you.................it is NOT. We are not alone in our parenting. Listen to God's words:   " I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, But God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who makes things grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers;" 1 Corinthians 3:6-9   As moms, we have a huge responsibility to plant some seeds, to water some seeds in our children but we are not alone in this. God, the Master Gardener, is the One who can make beautiful  things grow in our children. He is our "fellow worker."   May we all do our part, (because we will be "rewarded according to our own labor") and may we do it as well as we can, but may we find encouragement in the truth that we are not alone in this huge task. Press into God and keep asking hIm to do His part of making the seeds of truth grow in your precious children's hearts.  In this season of Spring, the time of new growth and beauty, may your heart be filled with the hope of new growth and beauty in your children. May we take our job of "gardening" our children seriously, watching out for the weeds ( anger, jealousy, lust, slander, etc...) plucking them early before they get too big, nourishing the "soil" of their hearts with lots of love, time, prayers, wisdom, playfulness, God's words, and role modeling Godliness in our own lives.  May we plant the seeds of God's Word through music, dinner devos, bedtime chats, words on the walls of our homes, memory verses, etc..........May a BEAUTIFUL GARDEN GROW IN OUR HOMES....Blessings from Bombadil. "It is written!"

Remember how Jesus avoided/resisted/fought against the evil one:   "It is WRITTEN!".........Matthew 4::4, 7 and 10   When you are tempted today, in whatever area (slander, negative thinking/unbelief, fear, unthankfulness, hatred, impatience, jealousy, sexual immorality, etc................)..........Do you know what is written?   Fight well today my friends..............for the sake of his name and the sake of your soul's well being. A picture

I have been STARING at a a particular picture this morning.  It's a picture of myself; Kristy, .......my son;Jake, and my hubby; Roberto (Rob, actually.........somtimes I just like to call him Roberto). Jake is in the middle of us with his arms around both of our necks. I am on the left and Rob is on the right. ..........So the order is K, J, R..........(Kristy, Jake, Rob)..........So, listen to this verse:    "Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: That he/SHE UNDERSTANDS AND KNOWS ME that I am the Lord who exercises Kindness (K........Kristy), Justice   (J..........Jake), Righteousness (R........Roberto) on earth, for in these I delight." Jeremiah 9:22-24   I have heard it said before that the most important thing about YOU, is what YOU BELIEVE ABOUT GOD.May we make it our goal to "Understand and know God." May the picture before me, that I offer to your imagination, remind you of who HE IS and what he does.............He excerises KINDNESS, JUSTICE, RIGHTEOUSNESS.  He is soooooooooo alive and sooooooooooooo at work in YOUR DAY TODAY. Mom Monday.

Happy Mom Monday.   THere are sooooooo many things I struggle with in being a mom.   One of  the things on the top of my list is I talk too much as it relates to discipline. I talk instead of simply enforcing a painful consequence.   THis has been brought to my attention many times, and the Spirit of God has brought it to me AGAIN this morning.   So, this morning, I pass along to you the truth, the "sword", the Word of God, that was passed along to me as I poured out my heart to God about one of my precious children.   "A servant CANNOT be corrected by MERE WORDS; though he understands, HE WILL NOT RESPOND." Prov. 29:19   I don't think this is true of every child, but there are different kinds of children. I know that one particular child of mine NEEDS ME TO TALK LESS AND CALMLY ENFORCE A PAINFUL CONSEQUENCE more.   My prayer this morning:   "Oh God in heaven,,,... HELP ME/US!!...............May I/we pay attention to YOUR COMMANDS and put them into pracitce. May we do our part so that YOU can do your part. Help us remember we are not alone in this parenting of our children. You care more than we do. We call out for wisdom and understanding and ask for strength to put that wisdom into ACTION." Make the MOST!

"MAKE THE MOST OF EVERY OPPORTUNITY." Colossians 4:5   Use as advantageously as possible every right moment to take action toward a definate goal.   SEEKING to put this into practice in my life TODAY: (inspired by reading these GOD words, desiring to not just be a hearer but a doer)    Yesterday, my son came home and told me about a boy that got in a fight at school. Today, he is coming home with us for a playdate. I am going to seize this right moment to take action toward the definate goal of SHOWERING him WITH LOVE (1 John 4:8)   God is giving us opportunities TODAY........May we make the MOST!!!!  Blessings from Bombadil! Pleasant vs. desolate

"This is HOW they made the PLEASANT land DESOLATE." Zechariah 7:13      How??? Tell me How??? I want a pleasant land!! I don't want my land to be desolate- gloomy, dreary, lonely, without friends or hope, etc...       " They REFUSED to PAY ATTENTION; stubbornly they TURNED THEIR BACKS AND STOPPED UP THEIR EARS. THEY made their HEARTS as HARD AS FLINT and WOULD NOT LISTEN TO THE LAW OR TO THE WORDS THAT THE LORD ALMIGHTY HAD SENT."   "Oh Father......................help us!! May we pay attention to every word you say. May we keep our hearts soft, moldable, open to your wisdom and discipline. May we not turn our backs and plug our ears (like I sometimes see my children do) to you. SO THAT...our land can be PLEASANT- giving pleasure and enjoyment, pleasing in many ways.........lively!!!   May it be. Mom Monday

"Village life in Isreal ceased, ceased UNTIL Deborah AROSE, AROSE A MOTHER in Isreal. When they chose new gods, war came into the city gates...."   -Judges 5:7 & 8   Mmmmmm....   Come on moms!   May we ARISE. May we "Get up from a sitting or lying down with heads to the ground position."   May we ENGAGE FULLY as a mother.   May we  MOTHER- watch over, nourish and protect. May we create and care for.   Our job as mothers is sooooooooooooooooooooo important to the LIFE of our children. This day we have opportunity to turn their hearts to the True, Living God. We have opportunity to capture their hearts and draw their hearts to us. We must arise  and care for them, teach them, nourish them, create fun for them, be there for them to listen to  and inspire their precious, precious, hearts.   May we engage their hearts with the TRUE GOD, that they may not want lesser "gods" and invite "war". ... Happy Mom Monday

"A longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul."  Proverbs 13:19   When was the last time you had one of your longings fulfilled???   It has been a longing of mine for quite awhile to be more intentional with my children. More intentional to teach them God's word through weekly memory verses. More intentional to read & discuss certain truths, questions, etc. More intentional to have one-0n-0ne time with each child to encourage them, challenge them, love on them....   I have longed for this for years. I have no idea why but it has been SUCH A STRUGGLE/WRESTLE making it happen.   But as of two weeks ago..............my longing is fulfilled!! I'm doing it!     I made a special little meeting place (the kids are calling my "office") downstairs. I filled a special box with treats where they may choose one while we chat. I filled another box with prizes for memory verses. I have my black folder with each of their names where I write down all the great things I've seen in them over the week, some of the areas they may need to work on, and an applicable verse for their life that week. I have my three books we are going through and discussing; The kids version of : A Case for Christ, A Case for Faith, and A Case for a Creator.   It feels sooo sweet to my soul to have this time with each one of my children.........especially after it has been a longing for some time now and the resistance to it has felt/seemed sooo great.   I imagine some of that wrestle involves the spiritual world that does not want us moms pouring God's word into our kids hearts. May we not give up! May we continue praying and asking GOd to help us be and do what he calls us to do, until our longings are fulfilled. These child rearing years go by sooo fast...........may we give it our all NOW ..that we may reap the harvest in years to come. Blessings from Bombadil. Happy February 1st

Happy February 1st..................I've got my children's little mailboxes all set up outside of their rooms filled with their first little LOVE treat for this month of LOVE.   May I remind us, on this first day of LOVE month that,   "God is LOVE."   "The Lord is ABOUNDING in LOVE." Exodus 34:6   "THe earth is FULL of HIS UNFAILING LOVE." Psalm 33:5   Love is God's idea. It is His very nature.  May we acknowledge him and thank him for LOVE. Interceding for you!

"Because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. THerefore HE IS ABLE TO SAVE COMPLETELY those who come to God THROUGH HIM, because HE ALWAYS LIVES TO INTERCEDE FOR THEM." Hebrews 7:24 & 25   "Christ Jesus- who died- more than that, who was raised to life- IS AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD AND IS ALSO INTERCEDING FOR US."  Romans 8:34   Just making sure youve heard, and are growing in  KNOWING  and BELIEVING you are not alone in this world. ....THe creator of the Universe SEES YOU AND IS TALKING TO GOD ABOUT YOU. You know more than I do.

The other day, I was in Bed, Bath, and Beyond, looking for something. I had NO IDEA where to find it, so I asked one of the workers. As she was leading me to what I was looking for, she made a comment about hoping she was leading me in the right direction. I said to her   , "Hey, you know more than I do, so I'll follow you."   He knows more than we do, my friends, about where to find what we are looking for! Jesus Christ, says this,    "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world." John 8:23   "No one has ever gone into heaven EXCEPT THE ONE WHO CAME FROM HEAVEN- THE SON OF MAN/JESUS." John 3:13   On hearing one of Jesus' teachings  may of his disciples said, "This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?"   Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this Jesus said, "What if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before!" John 6:62   I am looking for PARADISE. I am looking for PERFECTION. I WANT HEAVEN!!!!! I desire a place of LOVE, PEACE, JOY, A HOME OF RIGHTEOUSNESS..... Jesus is from there. He is the  only one who has been there.  He knows how to lead us to what we are looking for. Say to Him,    "Hey, you know more than I do, so I will FOLLOW YOU."   P.s. unlike the store worker who was "HOPING" she was leading me in the right direction..............Jesus KNOWS!!!   P.S..S.. Struggles in being a mom

The creator of the Universe gave us 2 ears and one mouth and gave us the following instructions:   "Be QUICK to LISTEN and SLOW to SPEAK." James 1:19   Allow me the joy of hearing your hearts.......................I would LOVE to LISTEN to you.   * What do you need most as a mom? *Could I be of assistance in any way? *What are your struggles?   I would love to listen to anything you might like to share. If, however, I don't hear from anyone, let me encourage all of us as moms/women to put this truth into practice...may we become better LISTENERS to our children and those around us, than TALKERS. "I'm just the Messenger."

Waiting at the Doctor's office the other day, I heard something that made my inner/spirit buzzer go off.  The receptionist/ secretary for the doctor was talking to a couple different patients on the phone, and each time  she would relay what the doctor had said and what he ordered. Every time after she gave the message she would say,   " I am just the messenger."     Oooooooohh....... As soon as I heard those words I heard HIS whisper.   " I am the GREAT PHYSICIAN....THE DOCTOR OF ALL DOCTORS. You, Kristy, and all followers of me, are just the MESSENGERS. People might either love you or hate you because of the message but you are just the messenger.......and you have a MESSAGE to give my people from the One who loves their souls sooo deeply and wants to see them healed completely."    Do you know the MESSAGE??? THe Dishwasher Dance

Remember that truth from Proverbs:   "A cheerful look brings joy to the heart?"   I'm just passing on to you............I had some joy brought to my heart today by the cheerful looks of my two sons at 6:30a.m................The Reason::::     The Dishwasher Dance.      I don't know what kind of sound your dishwasher makes or if you even have one, but ours has a mean dance beat.......I found myself "getting down" to the "music" and to my surprise found some cheerful looks brought my way (along with a few "Mom! Please!").........But hey...I got a  little joy out of it ...........and I've heard from a wise man that a little joy is like medicine for the soul. SO turn your dishwasher on and DANCE, LADIES. .....If no one else is around to laugh at you, just laugh at yourself and BE JOYFUL. Blessings from Bombadil. Happy 2012!

Happy 2012! Here's my own 2012 Mantra:   "In this year of 2012 Into God's Word deeper I'll DELVE!"   Have you seen the movie called "2012"?? It's one of those action packed movies about the world ending in 2012. Being the movie lover that my husband is, he has been leading our family in pondering the thought/idea from that movie,    "What IF the world were to end in 2012? What would you do differently if you knew this was the last year of your life??"   It's a good question.   It's a hard question.   It's a motivating question.   Here is one thing I've come up with for ME.   " SO, I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the TRUTH. I think it is right to refresh your memory, as long as I live in the TENT of this body, because I know that I will soon put it aside...And I will MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO SEE THAT AFTER MY DEPARTURE YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ABLE TO REMEMBER THESE THINGS." 2 Peter 1:12-15   As it relates to my role as a mom..........if this were the last year of my life.......I want to pass on as much truth to my children as possible............So this year, I am going to make them a book of our home with all the symbols I have around it and the truths of God related to  each symbol so that, "After my departure they willl alwasy be able to remember"  what I've tried to teach them.   What would you do??   Blessings from Bombadil.
