Deuteronomy 11:18-21 is similar.
These are the verses that have had the most influence over Bombadil (my home). These are the verses have influenced my belief that being a mom is one of the most important jobs on this earth. These pieces of truth have given me a vision for my home.
The time I have with these gifts (my children) God has given me is sooooo short in the big scheme of things.
Proverbs 4:3 says, "When I was a boy in my father's house, STILL TENDER, and an only child of my mother, he taught me and said, 'Lay hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands and you will live."
I am seeking to impress and make a VERY STRONG INFLUENCE on my children and make a "vivid perception" while they are "still tender" and in my home. NOW is my time to teach them and train them in the ways of God so that when they leave this home they will have "images" in their mind that will help them "live".
So my home is FULL of God's truths, more in symbols and things that would cause myself first and then my children to think about God's words. I really can't walk anywhere in my home without thinking and being reminded of God's words. So let me just take you through a walk of Bombadil.
THE LIVING ROOM:
"Meditate" sign- " I will meditate on your wonderful works." Psalm 145:5
A scale/Balance- " The man who fears God will avoid ALL extremes." Ecclesiastes 7:18
A treasure box (which holds my Bible)- "Where your treasure is there will your heart be also."
A rock that says "rejoice" (thank you M & C)- "Rejoice IN THE LORD always."Phil.4:4
A "jar of clay"- "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this surpassing power is from God and not from us." 2 Corinthians 4:7
A big key- "He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the KEY to this treasure."- Isaiah 33:6
A lamp with feet which is placed upon a Bible- "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light for my path."- Psalm 119:105
A grasshopper- "Do you not know?Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded? He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers." Isaiah 40:21 & 22
A globe- "Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. ....Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?- Isaiah 66:1
A sheep- "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me." John 10:11
"He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out." John 10:3

A brown shower curtain with cool crosses all over it- "For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross."
"If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross DAILY and follow me.....If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of man will be ashamed of him WHEN he comes in his glory......" Luke 9:23
A "HOPE" sign- "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

A hanging star candle holder- "Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked generation,in which you shine like STARS in the universe as you hold out the word of life." Philippians 2:14
May I encourage you to first of all "impress" upon your own heart the words of God. Surround yourself and your home with them that you might know God and His ways and LIVE! Then produce a "vivid perception' for your children OR all those who enter your home. BE CREATIVE! Some of you already do this sooooo well. Your homes are FULL of HIM (J.H). Some of you are incredibly creative (Ms. "Wonderfully Made" & Ms. B.Foxy mama & many, many others). I encourage everyone to go to either the Dollar store, Hobby Lobby, T.J. Max, just to name a few and find a symbol that speaks of God and His words to you so that every time you look at it- you are reminded of his truth which we so desperately need on a daily/hourly basis.
